This weekend I had a chance to help build an installation in Chinatown in preparation for the LA Design Festival which starts next week. The original concept was designed by architecture firm LOC in collaboration with Fifth Floor Gallery. The entire sculpture is made of disposable wine glasses which will be suspended above the Chung King Alley fountain. We only progressed part way today, so, no shots to give you a true sense of the final product. But here are some process shots. (And fyi, the entire installation once done will be composed of 3000 wine cups - pretty cool.)
