Well, in case you were wondering what happened to all those old books I collected, here is the finished product! I removed the spines and mounted them onto strips of wood (that I cut to varying lengths to create the curving pattern). A rather time-consuming task, to say the least, but worth it! It's entitled "Sign Posts" and will be in a show later this summer, so stay tuned...
This is so striking! I love it! Am curious to know what show it will be in...
If there is space on the wall, it will be in a "paper & pulp" show at the end of this month, along with some of my other art. If not, then it will probably go in an assemblage show at my old studio gallery later this summer... 🙂
Are you kidding me, Karen?!?! This is the COOLEST!!! Where in the world do you come up with these ideas? Your creativity is really boundless. Looks like you'll never get away from the dreaded sawing, though! LOL
Thanks Savannah...affirmations from fellow artists mean a lot, as you know! 🙂
Awesome! Is this piece for sale?
Yes, it is! I've just sent you an email.
