This little piece got accepted into the next juried art show at Viva Art Center yesterday...yay!
This is only the second time I've been accepted into a juried show, so I was trying not to get my hopes up. Then, when you hear other people coming out and saying they didn't get in, you kind of stuff your hopes even more and try to tell yourself it will be fine to be rejected. This is how my defense mechanism works anyway. So then, when I heard that my piece of art was accepted, it becomes all the more exciting! The juror for this show is the chair of the graduate fine arts program at Otis College of Art & Design. There is something really validating as an artist when another artist chooses your work. It really means something. It gives me that little burst of extra energy to keep persevering and moving forward.
congrats!!!
