Well, I have decided to say goodbye to this piece I started several weeks ago...there are sections of it I like quite a bit, but overall it is not coming together in a way I'm satisfied with. It's a little disheartening to put it in the discard pile, but hopefully that will clear some mental space to begin something new. In honor of its demise, a pleasing snapshot of interesting details...:)
How often does a piece go in the discard pile? I appreciate you sharing the entire process of your art including this piece that just wasn't coming together.
When I'm experimenting with new work and/or a new series, things go in the discard pile more often. When I'm on a role with a series and have already produced several that are working, pieces that get discarded are more rare.
Overall, I would say I don't have a huge amount that gets put aside...
