Here are the first few photos for these mini-creations. I have several of these book strips that I plan to incorporate into bigger art pieces....so each one will be a variation of this process. This is all experimental...I am still figuring out whether cutting out sections with a razor blade is the best approach. Not sure yet. But it makes for an interesting trial.

Attempting to cut nice curves with a razor blade is not the easiest thing to do. I remember a machine my dad had growing up...I think it was some sort of bandsaw? I'm wondering if something like that would be easier for cutting curved lines. Some day I would like some sort of wood shop...complete with all kinds of saws. Then constructing could be taken to another level. 🙂
Anyway, I'll post some more photos of this project as it progresses and reaches its finished state....
Your process photos are a treat to observe!
You should chat with my Dave about woodworking, he's starting to get into it and probably knows the name of the tool you're describing. I'm impressed you do this work by hand with a razor blade!
